What the program actually looks like

  1. Weeks 1–6

    Build Your Foundation

    • Join the national cohort and understand the program
    • Map your campus community and recruit a core team
    • Set up communication channels and plan your first activity

    Activate Your Campus

    • Promote and host workshops, technical talks, or meetups
    • Introduce students to open source and practical contribution workflows
    • Collect feedback and establish a regular activity calendar

  3. Weeks 13–20

    Grow Your Impact

    • Expand outreach through clubs, departments, and faculty
    • Collaborate with ambassadors from other campuses
    • Organize a large-scale event or initiative

  4. Weeks 21–24

    Showcase & Get Recognized

    • Compile event data, contributions, testimonials, and project highlights
    • Create and practice your campus impact presentation
    • Present your journey to the national cohort and plan what comes next

    Our team reviews every application and selects candidates based on their motivation, initiative, and potential.

    Have a short conversation with the OSCode team about your ideas, experience, and vision for your campus.

    Join the cohort

    Selected ambassadors join the national cohort, meet fellow campus leaders, and begin their six-month journey.

Any currently enrolled college student who is passionate about technology, community building, and creating opportunities for others can apply.

No. You don’t need to have led a club before. We’re looking for initiative, consistency, and a genuine interest in bringing students together.

Campus Leads build a core team, organize workshops and hackathons, run open-source activities, share relevant opportunities, and grow the OSCode community at their college.

Yes. You can apply to join the existing chapter’s leadership team and help organize programs at your campus.

Selected leads receive onboarding, event playbooks, activity ideas, promotional support, mentor or speaker connections, and guidance from the OSCode community team.

Active Campus Leads can earn certificates, digital badges, merchandise, community features, mentorship access, and other milestone-based rewards.

The program runs for 6 months. Consistent performers may continue leading their chapter or progress to larger roles within the OSCode community.
